• Tires with too little or too much air can cause blowouts or other unsafe conditions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
• Properly inflated tires will get you the best mileage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

  How To Check Your Tire Pressure  <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

  A sturdy kick is NOT enough. Do this before you start driving, or within the first few miles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. When you open your car door, you should see a sticker on the frame that shows you what the tire pressure should be in \u2018PSI\u2019.  It may be different for front and rear tires but will be the same for the driver\u2019s and passenger\u2019s side.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. You\u2019ll want to check each tire individually. Unscrew the cap on the tire stem and attach a tire pressure guage<\/a>. If the reading is under \u2013 get some air at a gas station or car wash as soon as you can.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. It your tire is visibly deflated \u2013 don’t drive on it!<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. While you\u2019re down there, check to see if you have any uneven wear on your tires or bulging \u2013 these can indicate serious problems.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

       How To Check Your Oil<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

       1. Some modern cars have sensors for this \u2013 but the rest of us need to grab a rag or paper towel, pop the hood, and look for the dipstick handle (consult your manual.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
       2. If you\u2019ve been driving, be careful, everything under the hood could be hot!<\/li>\n\n\n\n
       3. Pull the dipstick out, wipe the end clean with your rag or towel, then reinsert it all the way.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
       4. Pull it out again \u2013 there will be a line labeled \u2018Max\u2019 and \u2018Min\u2019 – If you\u2019re close to the \u2018Min\u2019 – add some oil. Read more on how to check your oil<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
       5. If the level is good, check the color \u2013 if it isn\u2019t brown or black in color and pretty thick, you might have some issues that need a professional\u2019s eye.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
