HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. \u2014<\/strong> Acceptance Insurance<\/a>, a leading personal lines agency under the Confie<\/a> family of brands, is partnering with NASCAR\u2019s Ross Chastain to promote safe driving through his Protect Your Melon (PYM) and Use Your Melon (UYM) highway safety campaigns. Working alongside state highway safety departments, this collaboration aims to raise awareness about the importance of buckling up, staying sober behind the wheel, and making smart choices on the road.<\/p>\n

Ross Chastain, well known for his No. 1 Chevrolet with Trackhouse Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series, will also compete in select NASCAR Xfinity Series races with JR Motorsports behind the wheel of the No. 9 Chevrolet. In these races, the Acceptance Insurance-sponsored car will prominently feature key safety messages to remind drivers of their responsibility behind the wheel.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough I make my living by driving fast and taking risks, that is confined to the racetrack,\u201d said Chastain. \u201cI see a lot of reckless behavior on the road, and it concerns me. One of my best friends was paralyzed in a crash, and it changed his life forever. That\u2019s why I\u2019m committed to spreading the message of safe driving.\u201d<\/p>\n

As an eighth-generation watermelon farmer and professional race car driver, Chastain uses his platform to advocate for highway safety across 12 states, including California, Delaware, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.<\/p>\n
